Eremophila "Kalbarri Carpet" / "Emu Bush" A vigorous low growing plant with silvery white foliage and yellow bird attracting flowers. The mass of flowers are in abundance during Spring and Summer and produces nector for the honeyeaters and provides shelter for the small animals.
Grows naturally in alkaline beach sand and adapts well also to dry heavy soils, clay loams and limestone rubble but must have good drainage.
This maintance free plant is suitable for all sun and light shade position, frost hardy, withstands salt spray. Once established is drought tolerant. Can be pruned very hard if necessary and recovers quickly
An excellent plant for foliage contrast in gardens, planted on mass makes a hardy, spectacular display, excellent in a decorative pot, great for the native or cottage garden.
Planting: Cultivate soil before planting. Dig hole twice the width of the container. Remove plant from container and place into the hole so that soil level is the same as the surrounding ground. Fill hole firmly and water in even if the soil is moist.
Care: Always ensure regular watering is provided for your new plants. The plants may need watering for around 12 weeks or until they are established depending on time of year and weather conditions once planted.
Good mulching will assist to reduce weeds and maintain moisture levels. Maintain fresh growth, shape and promote dense habit by pruning after main flowering time. Feed in early Spring with a low phosphorus fertiliser.
Using tubestock is a great advantage for planting in your garden as they will establish quickly with the appropriate care.
