Abutilon x Hybridum Chinese Lantern "Tango" Orange Flower This very hardy, fast growing, upright shrub has beautiful vivd orange, papery, latern shaped flowers on arching stems with maple shaped leaves. A lovely way to bring butterfies to the garden. A beautiful addition for the cottage garden with its stunning display of flowers which are produced at different times throughout the year.
Will tolerate a variety of soils but must be well-drained. Best planted in full sun with a sheltered position from strong wind. A cut back in early Spring will encourage new growth.
Lovely planted as a hedge, a backdrop in the garden or in a decorative pot on the patio.
Planting: Cultivate soil before planting. Dig hole twice the width of the container. Remove plant from container and place into the hole so that soil level is the same as the surrounding ground. Fill hole firmly and water in even if the soil is moist.
Care: Always ensure regular watering is provided for your new plants. The plants may need watering for around 12 weeks or until they are established depending on time of year and weather conditions once planted.
Good mulching will assist to reduce weeds and maintain moisture levels. Maintain fresh growth, shape and promote dense habit by pruning after main flowering time. Feed in early Spring with a good all round fertiliser.
